Pusan/Osaka car-ferry trade may open
The 21st Korea-Japan maritime working level council was held in Tokyo, Japan from March 26 to 27, 2001.
The mainly discussed issues included the Pusan/Osaka regular car-ferry trade launch discussions that were left unresolved in the 20th meeting, additional deployment of a speedy passenger ferry in Pusan/Hakata, important bilateral maritime policies between Korea and Japan, and basic principles changes in launching new trade between Korea and Japan made in 1989.
The Korea-Japan maritime working level council was first held in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan, in order to develop bilateral maritime affairs through information exchange and discussions.
Min Kyoung-tae, maritime policy manager, and Takiguchi Gaige, ocean-going department manager, attended the council.
