Samik Logistics launches railroad service between Dalian and Youngil
Samik Logistics kicked off a container handling rail service between Dalian and Youngil, both in China.
Samik Logistics, an affiliated company of Choyang Line established a joint venture logistics company with the Dalian Transportation Ministry and Shimyang Railroad Ministry, Dalian Jiyi Logistics Co., Ltd., to run the exclusive container carrying rail service between Dalian and Youngil last June. After trial operations from last December until the end of this February, it officially launched train services March 2, 2001, holding an opening ceremony with over 200 people in attendance in Dalian. Especially, Mr. Park Jae-woo, vice president of Choyang Line and the president of Samik Logistics, was named an honorary citizen of Dalian, for developing Logistics there.
Train services will mainly serve in Dalian/ Shimyang/ Changchoon/ Gillim/ Donwha/ Ando/ Youngil/ Domoon, posting a twice-weekly fixed service (departing Dalian every Tuesday and Friday). Dalian Samik Logistics will be well supplied with the port logistics systems of the Dalian Port Authority, the railroad systems of the Shimyang Railroad Ministry, and the operational and managerial expertise in railroad systems of Samik Logistics.
It also has plans to offer a perfect intermodal service to the Northeast three main provinces with the existing railroad system. Its headquarters will be in Dalian with a branch office in Youngil.
