Kuehne & Nagel International AG exceeded all expectations in 2000
The globally operating logistics group Kuehne & Nagel International AG obtained record results in 2000. The preliminary report shows a Consolidated Net Profit of CHF 125.9 million, which represents an improvement of 32.2% versus last year. The turnover increased by 24.3% to CHF 8,247.4 million.
The achieved results are reflecting the efficiency of the new organisational structure of the Kuehne & Nagel group as well as the customer and market-oriented business approach.
All regions and business units contributed to this excellent result which was also influenced by the dynamic economic growth especially in the European and Asia Pacific regions. This fact is even more remarkable considering the noticeable weakening of the economic environment in North America during the fourth quarter.
Given this favourable development, the Board of Directors proposes to the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on May 15, 2001 a dividend distribution of CHF 22.50 per share (45% of nominal value) on the increased share capital of CHF 120 million.
The Annual Report will be presented during the press and analyst conferences, April 05, 2001 at the group's headquarters in Schindellegi, Switzerland.
