TSR should transport Korean cargoes within 6 months
The Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR) in Russia may be ready to transport Korean cargoes in less than 6 months, said a high official at the Maritime Littoral Province of Siberia where the TSR railway passes through. The official stressed, "the TSR starts at Karsan station very close to North Korea needs a bit of repair and restoration in order to handle Korean cargoes. And it would probably help to prop up cargo movement between Europe and South Korea."
South Korea has been using the TSR for European bound container cargoes via Nakhodka in Russia, resulting in movement delays and cost increases.
