HHI receives automatic storage system from Kumgang Korea Chemical
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) has received an order from Kumgang Korea Chemical Co., Ltd. (KCC) for an explosion-proof paint materials Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS).
The AS/RS is a huge system of storage racks holding 4,500 pallets where receptacles holding full cans or drums of various paint materials can be stored. The system also includes: an automated, high speed stacker crane that can quickly convey storage receptacles to different rack locations; picking facilities that can classify, load, and carry objects being stored; and other conveyor systems and facilities.
The automated explosion-proof paint materials storage & retrieval system has undergone extensive preparations against the many possible dangers in the loading, storing, and carrying of paint materials, such as being fireproofed and made blast-resistant.
The explosion-proof AS/RS is scheduled for complete installation in KCC's Ulsan Plant by October
