Logistics Standard Certification Mark System will be Put in Force from 2001
The government decided to invest government funds, totalling 182.7 bil
lion won in building the foundation of logistics innovation to improve
high - cost , low - efficiency logistic systems from this year to 20
02, and to support the development of e-commerce in sectors still off-
line.
According to the reports issued by the Strategic Conference to Increas
e Industrial Competitiveness by Logistics Innovation, plans for logist
ic innovation by MoICE ( Ministry of Comme Industry and Energy) includ
e the adjustment of standards concerning logistics this year with the
aids of research and analysis on logistic standards for enterprises. A
standard certification mark system will be put in force which gives p
reference to companies using instruments and standard logistics facili
ties with certification marks by 2001. The government will also help
the research and development (R&D)end of things via investment in ente
rprises to promote the spread of logistics information through the inf
ormation technology (IT). Systems to benefit include logistic informat
ion system setting and logistic innovation method development. Funds w
ill be increased for building co - collect and - delivery blocks and c
ollection and delivery centers. Supply methods for raising the profes
sional logistics industry will be put into practice.
