Korean Shipping Lines shows good results during first 8 months
Import and export cargoes handled by Korean shipping companies decreased 3.3% to 317 million tons compared to last year, but tariff income Increased 11.2% to $7,432 million, the Korea Shipowner's Association reported.
It was explained that general tanker circumstances were good, even though cargoes dwindled for Korean ocean-going lines. This is in part due to drastically increased chartering fees and high growth in container cargoes from Korea.
