Licensing agreement of software signed between COSCO and OOCL

COSCO entered into a licensing agreement with OOCL on 11th November, 2000 for the use of IRIS-2 (Integrated Regional Information System), a fully integrated customer shipment management system, which includes booking, tracking, documentation and other related function.

The signing ceremony took place at COSCO’s Beijing headquarters, Ocean Plaza, and was attended by Mr. Wei Jia Fu, President and CEO of COSCO Group and Mr. C.C. Tung, Chairman of Orient Overseas International Ltd.

COSCO has signed the agreement with OOCL to adopt the latest software technology of IRIS - 2. “We believe such venture will help COSCO to accelerate the development of our global containerisation information technology and will greatly improve the our overall service to meet the ever demanding needs of our customers. MR. Wei said. “We at OOCL feel very proud and honored that COSCO has chosen IRIS as their operating system. For over seven years, OOCL has invested in and developed IRIS-2 from the ground up, integrating our business processes with our system process using object technology. This enable us to ultimately serve our customers better and faster, said Mr.C.C Tung, Chairman of OOIL.

OOCL will also assist COSCO in the initial implementation of the IRIS-2 system.
