Pan Continental picks up new corporate partner in Korea and Japan trade
Beginning this July Pan Continental will completely reshuffle vessel positions.
Although the Pan Continental Shipping Corporation has been operating together for many years with Choyang Line, Heung-A shipping, Dongnama Line and Dongyoung shipping, it has now changed partners and chosen to work with the Korea Maritime Transportation Corporation (KMTC) and Chun Kyung Line, resulting in a repositioning of its vessels in Korea and Japan trades. It will now call at 13 ports in Japan its new alliance, up from its current 6 ports.
The Keihin area covering Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya will be serviced by the 'Sky Blue', 'Tong Xin Quan', 'Sunny Palm', 'Asian Express' and the 'Sky Duke'. These vessels will call as follows:
Inchon / Ulsan / Pusan / Shimizu / Tokyo / Yokohama / Chiba / Nagoya / Yokkachi / Toyohashi / Ulsan / Pusan and Inchon.
The Hashin area including Osaka and Kobe will be serviced by 'Korean Express', 'Sunny Maple', 'Sunny Rose' and the 'Sunny Pine'. They will call at Inchon / Ulsan / Pusan / Osaka / Kobe / Yakayama / Takamachu / Mizushima / Hiroshima / Ulsan / Pusan and Inchon.
A working level officer said, "We are aggressively spreading this service in The Japanese market for the satisfaction of our customers and to further our competitiveness in this severely competitive trade, Korea/ Japan trades that is. We are securing all available capacities in this new joint operation.
In mid-May, Pan Continental tried to reposition vessels in Korea/Japan Trade after Cho Yang Line withdrew its services in the trade. After that, it reached out for an agreement to KMTC and CK Line. This joint operation will initially be for one year, placing 4 CK Line vessels, 3 KMTC vessels and 2 Pan Continental vessels in the service.
