HMM builds Asian headquarters in Singapore

Hyundai Merchant Marine said that it established a South East and South West Asian headquarters in Singapore in order to uplift competitiveness and expand sales in the area. Countries under the new regional HQ include Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The headquarters will take responsibility for personnel, management and supervision of regional corporations.
HMM will minimize management and supervision, saving costs and improving business response times by sharing work between local divisions and headquarters.
An insider at HMM said, "we expect to minimize our unpredicted sales loss during the slack season and to increase cargoes through stronger sales activities. We also assume that this will lead to savings for terminals and faster contracts for feeder services."
