Inauguration of a new container service between South West Asia and Europe
COSCO Container Lines (COSCON), Shanghai; Evergreen Marine Corp (Taiwan) Ltd (EMC), Taipei; Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd ("K"Line), Tokyo; and Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Berhad (MISC), Kuala Lumpur are pleased to announce the inauguration of a new joint container service between South West Asia (Sri Lanka and India) and Europe effective from March 2001. The service will offer a fixed day weekly sailing with six vessels ranging from 2300TEU to 2700TEU. The intended ports of call for this service are as follows:
Colombo (Wed/Thu) - Nhava Sheva (Sat/Sun) - Port Said (Mon/Tue) - a UK port (Tue/Wed) - Hamburg (Thu/Thu) - Antwerp (Sat/Sat) - Port Said (Sun/Mon) - Colombo (Wed)
The commencement date will be 21 March 2001 with the arrival of the first vessel in Colombo.
