Maersk Opens Ground Freight and Linehaul Hub in Lake City

Maersk has opened a new Ground Freight station and integrated linehaul hub in Lake City, Georgia, strengthening its U.S. network and delivering faster, smarter logistics solutions. Maersk has opened a new ground freight station and integrated linehaul operations hub in Lake City, Georgia, strategically located just south of Atlanta.

This expansion strengthens Maersk’s national logistics coverage across the Southeastern United States and integrates into the company’s broader portfolio of end-to-end logistics and supply chain services. Located near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and with direct access to Interstate 75, the facility is embedded in a key logistics corridor. Its proximity to major rail lines, regional distribution centers, and Atlanta industrial zones provides seamless connectivity for both regional and national freight operations. “Our investment in Lake City reflects Maersk’s commitment to building a smarter, faster, and more connected Ground Freight network. The facility supports a full range of services including specialized and standard LTL services, along with Expedited LTL, FTL, linehaul operations, Home and Store Delivery, and Dedicated Fleet. Aligned with Maersk’s network optimization strategy, the Lake City hub utilizes advanced routing intelligence, real-time visibility platforms, RF scanning, and digital dimensioning to drive shipment precision and operational transparency.

With more than 65 facilities across North America, Maersk Ground Freight continues to expand and evolve its logistics network through strategic infrastructure, advanced technology, and a customer-first approach. This latest addition, along with the recently opened Dallas–Fort Worth Station and Hub, reinforces Maersk’s commitment to integrated, nationwide logistics excellence.
