Transit cargoes skyrocketing in Port of Pusan

Total container cargoes through the Port of Pusan came to 3.79 million TEU thanks to steady increases of transit cargoes over the first six months of this year, rising 3.5 % over a year ago.

Pusan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries handled import container cargoes amounting to about 1.18 million TEU, down by 2.8% from 1.21 million TEU a year earlier.

Export cargoes plummeted 5% to 1.20 million TEU, compared to last year's 1.27 million TEU. Also, transit cargoes during the same period come in strong with a 19.3% jump over last year's showing to 3.79 million TEU.

By June, ocean-going cargoes stood at 50,509,000 tons, a slight increase of 1.3% from 49,881,000 tons for the same period last year.
