Hansung Shipping starts Pusan/Dalian trade
Hansung Shipping kicked off its service bound for China as the Jin Man Yu, a chartered vessel, left the Port of Pusan on September 3.
Hansung Shipping finalized its contract with ChoYang to take over operation rights of Korea/China and Korea/Japan trade routes, and chartered a 464 TEU vessel, the Jin Man Yu, which has been operating in the trade under ChoYang Line.
The port calling is as follows: Pusan - Kwangyang - Dalian - Weihai - Pusan. The service is on a weekly fixed day schedule, the same as its previous operator's.
For this new service, Hansung Shipping will lease as many as 1,000 TEU containers on top of its own containers before September 10.
Hansung Shipping revealed that the speed with which they took over operations in the Korea/China service was largely due to early approvals from the Korean and Chinese government. Taking over the service from Choyang before the first vessel sailed also made things easier.
A shipping official stated that Hansung Shipping was able to quickly prepare for the service because the company already has a great deal of know-how in near-seas trade thanks to ChoYang's active cooperation.
Hansung Shipping has occasionally deployed container vessels in the Masan and Vostochny trade route with a three times monthly service. It also just launched a tramp liner service between the Far and Middle East.
