[ Hanjin Adding Kobe Call On IAX Svc This Month ]

Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd. has announced that, starting late this month
, Kobe Port will be added to the port rotation of its IAX(Intra Asia E
xpress) service, jointly operated with Dongnama Shipping, Co., Ltd.
The IAX service is presently provided on a weekly basis, linking Tokyo
-Yokohama-Osaka with Hong Kong-Singapore-Port Kelang, with a turnaroun
d time of 21 days. Three vessels will be assigned to the service-that
is, the 1,702-TEU(with 100 reefer plugs) Hanjin Chungmu, the 1,552-TEU
(138 reefer plugs) Irenes Horizon and the 1,554-TEU(141 reefer plugs)
Seven Seas Chariot.
The Hanjin Chungmu(vayage No. 144W), the first ship to call Kobe Port,
will arrive/depart on November 21. She will use the PC-11 Berth on Po
rt Island.
The three vessels for the IAX service, each equipped with at least 100
reefer plugs, are fully capable of hauling frozen cargo as well.
