[HMM to strengthen PCC Business ]

Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., has signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy
Industries Co., to build two newbuilding ships for transporting automo
biles exclusively.
The ships with a capacity of 4,300 mini-cars will be delivered in May
and September 1995.
HMM said the company now ranks fourth in the world with a fleet of 36
ships for transporting automobiles.
In the meantime, HMM is actively expanding its PCC services in Europe,
the Far East and Central/South America.
In June HMM carried out 1,200 cars from Flushing and Le Havre in Franc
e to Setubal in Portugal. HMM has also been awarded a contract to carr
y 1,100 Peugeot, Citroen and Renault cars to South America.
