CP Ships Restructures Senior Management of Montreal Gateway Lines
Terry Burrows has been named Senior Vice President of CP Ships with o
verall responsibility for the Montreal Gateway container lines Canada
Maritime and Cast with effect from 29th August. He will report to Ray
Miles, CEO of CP Ships.
Mike Jordan, Executive Chairman of Canmar and Cast, will step back fr
om his executive position as he wishes to reduce his work commitment.
He will continue in a senior role for CP Ships.
Gordon Braun, formerly CEO of Canada Maritime, has decided to leave C
P Ships. His position will not be replaced. Canmar's executive committ
ee will report directly to Terry Burrows, and so will Peter Seminck, C
EO of Cast.
Terry Burrows began his career with CP Ships in 1964. He served with
Canmar North America from 1988 to 1995 and Cast from 1995 to 1999. Fro
m 1997 onwards he was CEO of Cast. Most recently, he was Executive Vic
e President of Americana Ships, the group's Americas specialist which
includes Lykes Lines and TMM Lines.
Mike Jordan joined CP Ships in 1996 as CEO of Canada Maritime after a
distinguished career with OOCL and Hapag Lloyd. He was named Executiv
e Chairman of Canmar and Cast in 1999. In his new role, continuing to
report to Ray Miles, he will steer a number of key group projects. The
se include representing CP Ships' interests during the Canadian govern
ment's review of the Shipping Conferences Exemption Act.
Gordon Braun joined CP Ships in 1971. He was named CEO of Canada Marit
ime in 1999. The new Montreal Gateway management structure now mirrors
the management structure of CP Ships' Australasian-oriented lines, Co
ntship Containerlines and ANZDL. As Senior Vice President responsible
for both lines, David Halliday reports to Ray Miles. Contship's execut
ive committee reports to David Halliday, as does Stuart Rattray, CEO o
f ANZDL.
